Motorbike fork/yoke setting?

I noticed recently that the forks on my rsv1000 bike seem to come above of the yoke higher than all the pics in the haynes manual, mine have around 15-20mm where the haynes manual pics only have around 5mm, i know droping the forks through the yoke can sharpen turning in, but if it do the opposite will i mess the handlig of the bike up? i want as a relaxed riding position as is possibe on a superbike
