What is ociative Composition in literature?

I think we might Be in the same English cl...with Mark Roberts? I basically understood ociative composition as a way where Homer connected to events with a similar simile. It usually wasn't such a long span of time between the two events like with ring comp, but like when Priam sees akhill in book 22 around line 30 there's a star comparison and then when akhill goes to kill hektor around line 370 there's another comparison to a star. It was just a more powerful way to connect 2 important events and maybe create a deeper understanding. Good luck on the midterm
